Welcome to my website!
I am Professor of European Politics at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen. My academic work predominantly focuses on legislative processes in the European Union and matters of comparative public policy. Since April 2019, I have been leading an Emmy Noether research group entitled "EUPLEX - Coping with policy complexity in the European Union" (www.euplex.org), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). In this project, we investigate what policy complexity is, how it can measured, where it comes from and how it affects political processes like decision-making and implementation.
Most recently, the European Research Council (ERC) awarded me a Consolidator Grant for my project "DEMOLAW - The Design, Creation and Survival of Democratic Laws". This new project has officially started on 1 October 2024. DEMOLAW - Call for applications! Postdoctoral position | Predoctoral position Stellenausschreibung studentische Hilfskraft |
